Whistleblowing in the Military

The session will explore innovative tactics and solutions to ensure that lawmakers and the public remain informed about military actions that could threaten democratic governance and constitutional principles. The panel will be moderated by Navy veteran and military journalist Jerry Ashton, who has exposed the debt-buying and collection industry’s role in ruthlessly pursuing unpaid medical debt, and the VA’s systematic refusal to honor billions of dollars in veteran healthcare claims. He is joined by 1) Michael Matthews, Director of Veterans Programs for Staten Island Performer Provider Services public health program; 2) Dr. Mary Roach, JJ Center and National Association of American Veterans; and 3) Anthony Warren, President and co-founder of About Face Veterans.
