Ahmar Mustikhan is a veteran journalist who has worked in newsrooms in Pakistan, United Arab Emirates and the U.S. He has worked for human rights advocacy in Washington DC and at the Palace of Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
The New Republic gave him the title “Pervez Dispenser” as he forced the now deceased Pakistan Army Chief General Pervez Musharraf to admit before thousands, “Yes I was a dictator.” He is the first openly gay person from the stateless Balochistan region and says he is shocked that some politicians are dishonest about their sexuality even in the U.S. capital.
He now writes for Cry for Justice, organizes Open Mic for Anacostia at the Busboys and Poets and works as a Peer Recovery Coach.
