Lisa P. Cohen is a Native Washingtonian and proud mother to Gerald, a U.S. Army pilot, and Taylor, a licensed social worker for children. Having aged out of foster care at 19, Lisa went on to serve her country as an engineer, interior communications electrician in the U.S. Navy.
Lisa's academic pursuits led her to the University of the District of Columbia, where she earned her BA in English and authored a book detailing her remarkable life, "Too fierce: One Woman's Incredible Journey from Foster Child to World Championship Boxer." Her legacy in boxing was cemented with her 2018 induction into the Washington D.C. Boxing Hall of Fame.
Her commitment to community service extends to her role as the former secretary for the Washington D.C. Chamber of Commerce and her long-standing membership in the Rotary Club of Washington D.C., where she currently serves as president. Her presidential initiative, "Rotary Championship Fight for Youth," epitomizes her dedication to empowering the next generation.
