Yolanda Bell has been fighting guardianship abuse and for legislative changes in Virginia since her sister Anastasia was taken and killed under a predatory hospital guardianship in 2017. Since then she has worked with the Virginia state legislature to first conduct a study of court appointed guardianships and professional guardians. In the 2.5 years since the study was completed and published, Yolanda has worked with state legislators to pass several laws to address the issues found to protect the most vulnerable around us and reel in guardians. There’s still a ways to go.
